The lady behind the wheel
I never had a specific plan to become a potter. It just sort of happened. I signed up for a Saturday class about three years ago and never really looked back. All the work I make is made and fired at the Wellington Potters' Association.
Clay is great. It's tactile and the design possibilities are endless. Plus at the end it, there is a functional thing that can actually be used by people. Ideally everyday and ideally with food.
This photo was taken in January 2017 when I was in Rotorua on my design inspiration trip (when I played tourist for a week under the guise of 'work'). My new collection, which you can shop here, is inspired by the Pink and White Terraces, and in general, the stunning geothermal landscapes we have in NZ.
